Al-Falah University Under Intense Scrutiny After Delhi Blast; Over 200 Doctors and Staff Questioned

Following the November 10 blast near the Red Fort, investigative agencies have tightened their probe, placing more than 200 doctors and staff members of Al-Falah University, Faridabad, under the scanner. Interrogations have intensified, and several employees were seen leaving the university premises with their belongings on Wednesday, prompting agencies to verify the identity of those exiting the campus.

ED Raids 25 Premises Linked to Al-Falah Group

Officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted early morning searches on Tuesday at 25 locations linked to the Al-Falah Group across Delhi-NCR. The raids were part of investigations into financial irregularities, shell company operations, and suspected money laundering. Several employees reportedly left on leave soon after the raids began.

The Delhi blast claimed 11 lives, and many injured victims continue to receive treatment at LNJP Hospital.

Over 1,000 Individuals Questioned So Far

Sources reveal that agencies are identifying individuals who left the university after the blast to examine any potential links with the attackers. Investigators have also discovered that many people deleted data from their mobile phones, which will now undergo forensic analysis.

Searches have been conducted in student hostels and rented accommodations outside the campus.
So far, over 1,000 people have been questioned, including key officials from university finance and administration. Nine shell companies linked to the group, all registered at the same address, are also under active investigation.

Anganwadi Worker Detained for Renting Room to Suicide Bomber

In Nuh, agencies detained a 35-year-old Anganwadi worker who had rented a room in Hidayat Colony to Dr. Umar, the suicide bomber involved in the blast. She reportedly went missing after the attack. Investigators are tracing her family and examining potential links to Umar.
Seven more individuals from Nuh have been questioned regarding their association with the attacker.

Umar had been using multiple mobile phones, and on the day of the blast, he operated two different handsets.

Patient Footfall Drops Sharply

After Umar’s links with the medical campus came to light, the number of patients visiting the hospital dropped drastically—from over 200 daily to fewer than 100, sources confirmed.

Agencies are exploring whether Umar had any internal facilitators within the university, as he was allegedly provided special privileges on campus.

Umar Attended Only One or Two Short Lectures a Week

Two doctors who completed their MBBS from Al-Falah University told investigators that Umar was absent for nearly six months in 2023 without submitting leave or intimation. Yet, he was reinstated without any disciplinary action.

They further revealed that Umar rarely attended classes—just one or two lectures a week, each lasting only 15–20 minutes, before returning to his rented room.

Night Shifts Were Unusually Assigned

Doctors also informed that Umar was consistently assigned evening or night shifts, never morning duties—an unusual arrangement that raised concerns among other lecturers.

Meanwhile, the NIA, Delhi Police Special Cell, UP ATS, Faridabad Crime Branch, and Jammu & Kashmir Police continue coordinated investigations. The ED conducted its second round of inspections on Tuesday, and agencies have set up a temporary command center inside the university campus to streamline the probe.

As the investigation deepens, Al-Falah University remains at the center of one of the largest multi-agency operations in recent years.
