Brave College Student Fends Off Kidnappers Just 50 Steps from Police Station in Gwalior


Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh: A college student displayed extraordinary courage when three men attempted to abduct her near a women’s police station in Gwalior. The incident occurred around 11 AM as the student was on her way to college, raising serious concerns about women’s safety in the city. The attackers fled after the student bravely fought them off, and police are currently searching for the suspects.

Incident Details
The incident took place in broad daylight between a women’s polytechnic college and the nearby women’s police station — a stretch that should have been one of the safest for any young woman. CCTV footage shows that a nearby auto rickshaw suddenly stopped behind the student. One person grabbed her hand, while another tried to lift her with his leg. The auto driver allegedly instructed the others to forcibly place her inside the vehicle.

Student’s Courage Saves Her
Demonstrating remarkable bravery, the student managed to free herself from their grip and ran toward the police station for help. The assailants abandoned the auto rickshaw and fled on foot before the police could intervene. The shaken student later returned home and filed a complaint at the police station.

Police Action
The police have seized the auto rickshaw used in the attempt. Inspector Shailendra Bhargav of Padav Police Station confirmed that a case has been registered against unknown persons. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects and are confident that arrests will follow soon.

Public Reaction
The incident has sparked outrage and fear among local residents, prompting questions about how such a brazen attempt could occur in a crowded area, just steps away from a police station.
